基于排队博弈理论从排队经济学的角度研究排队系统中的优化决策问题逐渐成为随机运筹快速发展的研究方向之一。本报告拟结合两篇研究论文,介绍基于排队经济学的服务系统的优化决策问题。两篇研究论文的主题源自batch service polling system和 double-sided matching queue:
(1) Optimal pricing and service capacity management for a matching queue problem with loss-averse customers
This study examines a matching queue problem (double-sided matching queue) where customers are loss-averse with respect to their waiting times. We first set the reference point and construct the loss-averse customers’ utility function, then we investigate the customers’ strategic behavior regarding their joining or balking dilemma, with reference to the information unavailable. Next, we derive the service providers’ optimal pricing and capacity-sizing decisions. We find that compared to the fully rational customers, the loss-averse behavior could reduce the joining probability of customers and drive down the service price. Furthermore, the profit function of the service providers could be a unimodal function of the servers queue capacity size, with the servers’ optimal queue capacity size increasing with the increase in the degree of the customers’ loss aversion. Moreover, different potential market sizes may lead to different values of the profit, that is, under different levels of the customers’ arrival rate, the service providers should make a reasonable and timely adjustment for the servers queue capacity size to guarantee their profits.
(2) Strategic behavior of customers and optimal control for batch service polling systems with priorities
During the past few years, batch service systems have attracted considerable attention due to their wide area of applications. In this study, we investigate a special batch service polling system (the so-called Israeli queue) with priorities. By considering two levels of information (observable and unobservable) provided upon customers’ arrival, we, respectively, derive the equilibrium strategies of high-priority and low-priority customers, regarding the joining or balking dilemma. We also present some numerical examples to reveal the impacts of several parameters on the equilibrium strategies, together with some intuitive explanations. Finally, we formulate the revenue function of the service provider and present the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm to seek the optimal service prices for the high-priority and low-priority customers to maximize the service provider’s revenue under the two levels of information.

姜涛,山东科技大学经济管理学院副教授,硕士生导师,研究方向包括随机运筹与优化、排队经济学、排队博弈、服务运作管理。到目前为止,姜涛老师主持国家自然科学基金青年项目、山东省自然科学基金博士基金各一项,参与国家自然科学基金面上项目两项、国家973项目(军口)子专项一项。以第一作者和通讯作者发表SCI期刊论文20余篇,相关成果发表在《Operations Research Letters》、《Optimization》、《Applied Mathematics and Computation》、《Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization》、《Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research》、《Mathematical Methods of Operational Research》等国际期刊。受邀担任美国《数学评论》评论员,并担任《Operations Research Letters》、《Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications》、《Queueing Systems》、《Quality Technology and Quantitative Management》、《RAIRO-Operations Research》等国际期刊匿名审稿专家。
